Blog 9: Changes to my study program
Hi everyone! Welcome once again to my English blog.
Today I will write about the changes I think would improve the studying experience in ICEI.
I found it very curious we had to write about
this topic cause at lunch I was just arguing with a friend of mine. He also
studies Film and Tv and It’s currently on 3rd year. So, he really
hates the classes of “formación general” we have in common with journalism
students, and firmly believes they are a waste of our time and a pretext from
ICEI to earn more money and make our career last a year longer.
I don’t totally agree with him, as I think they are the way University of Chile teaches it’s institutional values, and also help us to locate ourselves in the actual world, with all his crisis and gives us the skill to deal with this problems in our particular context. I do, though, think it is an excess to have like 12 of this classes throughout the career, which constantly absorb time we could use to another, more relevant and entertaining learning process, like the ones we have in the main classes of the career, like Workshop of Realization on Film and Tv, where we shoot our short films, show pilots and documentaries. I firmly believe the study plan is badly and excessively orientated to understanding the history of communication and all his process, leaving aside all the art, aestheatic and film history theorical classes, that could be a lot interesting and urgent than reading communication authors 6 times in 3 years.
And that would be all for today, hope you’ve
liked my new entry! C:

We need to have less "basic formation" classes :C
