Blog 4: Jimmy's Hall Review
Hello, and welcome to my blog!!
I really liked the movie because of its way of
portraying the story it wants to tell. It has a lot of great actors and a
mesmerizing setting of the époque. All the colors and landscapes, together with
the direction of photography and the clothing were really beautiful to me. I
think all this elements speak very well about the vision that the director
wanted to orientate the audience, the journey he invited the public to be part
of.
My favorite character was Jimmy, because of his
perseverance and faith in a project that could cost his own life, but also the
life of others… Of the people that followed him on his cultural and artistical
adventure, that ultimately lead him to being exiled of his own land. I could
say it’s very good how Ken Loach depicts the same struggle of the Irish people,
the fight for freedom, but from a different perspective: The freedom from the religious
power of the Catholic church.
My favorite scene was when Jimmy and Oonagh
dance a waltz in the moonlight at the Hall, remembering old times and being
really afraid thinking about the uncertain future that’s ahead.
That’ll be all for today, thanks!

Your favorite scene was one of the good ones!
